CIMA - INTERNATIONAL EARLY MUSIC SUMMER COURSES are an organization of MAAC with the support of Idanha-a-Nova Municipality and of Pottuguese government by DGArtes. CIMA provides training at the highest level in the field of early music with some of the best European specialists in historical performance. In previous editions, not subject to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. they have offered masterclasses, historical dance and choral music workshops, improvisation workshops, debates and interaction with the Ancient Music environment, other activities aimed at the general public, such as daily concerts, the final project and theoretical seminars accessible to participants and listeners.

In 2020, due to the pandemic situation, we had to change the mode of implementation to online courses, maintaining the masterclasses by videoconference, the discussion groups and the individual classes through ZOOM platform. The action model is different, but the main spirit remains equal! We want to keep making a significant contribution to the increase of critical mass of the early music movement in Portugal, inviting the entire musical community and audiences to interact creatively to the dissemination of repertoires, historical performance and promoting the activity of specialized musicians into the professional field.

If, in 2020, the CIMA will be online, we are already preparing the extraordinary project of the CIMA in other locations in Europe, implementing the courses in 2021, with all the conditions that were planned for this year, in Saludecio / Pesaro. Until then, the faculty and the organization await you all, in the scheduled period, for an intense online interaction under special conditions. To do so, simply register on this website. Any questions, please contact us.
